the first night, jsut before i woke up i saw an image of me under shallow murky water hugging my knees, eyes closed, face painted black and many face piercings - my face was morphing/i couldnt tell if it was me or Helene. the next night, i became lucid in my dream, started swimming underwater but couldnt make myself see anything, my eyes were closed i could feel it. but i could feel and hear the water around me as i swam.
Dreams of water often symbolize emotions, the unconscious mind, and the depths of one's psyche. Your dream unfolds over two nights, revealing layers of meaning that speak to both your inner life and your evolving self-perception.
First Night: Murky Water and Transformation
Seeing yourself under shallow, murky water while hugging your knees suggests a desire for safety or a retreat into your own emotional world. The act of curling up into a ball indicates a need for comfort or protection from stressors in your life. The murkiness of the water can represent confusion, uncertainty, or unresolved feelings, indicating that you may be grappling with inner turmoil or aspects of yourself that feel unclear or obscured.
The painted black face and numerous piercings suggest a duality – a rebirth or transformation that involves external changes as well as deeper identity exploration. Black is often associated with the unknown, transformation, and sometimes fear, but it also denotes strength and resilience. The piercings can symbolize both uniqueness and the potential for pain in transformation, suggesting that you may be experiencing or anticipating discomfort as you navigate through changes in your life.
The blur between your identity and that of Helene points to a merging of selves or influences in your life. Helene might represent a part of you, an ideal, or even someone you admire or are trying to understand. This interplay may indicate that you are exploring different facets of your identity and grappling with how others see you.
Second Night: Swimming and Lucidity
Becoming lucid in your dream signifies a heightened awareness of your thoughts and feelings, suggesting a growing capacity to consciously navigate challenges and desires. Swimming underwater can reflect deep engagement with your emotions; the water here serves as a medium for exploration. The closed eyes symbolize a reluctance or difficulty in facing certain truths; even in a lucid state, you may find yourself avoiding clarity.
Feeling the water around you and hearing it while you swim suggests that although you may not be able to see what lies below the surface, you are attuned to your emotional currents. The experience indicates a journey of self-discovery where the act of swimming can be interpreted as a struggle to navigate your emotions while recognizing their presence.
Overall Interpretation
Together, these dreams indicate a personal journey toward self-exploration and revelation, perhaps even a confrontation with unresolved feelings or aspects of your identity. The murky water exemplifies emotional complexity and confusion, while the lucidity of your second dream is a sign of empowerment and awareness. You are on the cusp of understanding and embracing different aspects of yourself, even if it requires navigating discomfort.
Consider what feelings and identities are surfacing in your waking life and how you might be integrating various parts of yourself. This process may involve recognizing the fears associated with transformation and the journey of self-discovery. Embrace this opportunity to explore your depths, as it can lead you to clarity and a more integrated self.
